  69. SYNOPSIS OF ACTIVITY
  70. --------------------

  72.             Solar activity was low. Region 7773 (S09W05) produced the
  73.        largest flare, a C6/1F at 05/0538Z. This region has reduced
  74.        spot area but increased magnetic complexity since yesterday.
  75.        Region 7776 (S08E23) has been relatively quiet. New Region 7777
  76.        (S14W22) was numbered.
  77.  
  78.             Solar activity forecast:  solar activity is expected to be
  79.        low. There is still a chance of an isolated M-class flare in
  80.        Region 7773 or 7776.
  81.  
  82.        STD: A 245 MHz radio noise storm was observed from 02:15 UTC to
  83.        about 09:27 UTC.  Another full-disk Yohkoh x-ray image has been
  84.        appended to this report showing the location of the coronal
  85.        hole and the relatively strong emissions from Regions 7773
  86.        and 7776.
  87.  
  88.             The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled at most
  89.        locations. Active to minor storm periods were observed at some
  90.        high latitude stations.
  91.  
  92.             Geophysical activity forecast:  the geomagnetic field is
  93.        expected to be active within the next 48 hours in response to
  94.        a coronal hole.
